Splodge is an absolute gentleman & needs to be loved, with him it is the whole package, he needs to trust you on the floor & being ridden, He has never done anything naughty with me other than be a bit nervous at times but he will only stand still & look for a reassuring pat before walking on. I have had him 4 years & will be sorry to see him go but he deserves more than I can give him at the moment, He loves his cuddles & once bonded with you will follow you around like a dog, which makes poo picking the field very amusing as he tries to help.

Splodge needs an experienced secure rider, although he doesn?t do anything wrong you need to have nice quiet hands, especially in trot which is very bouncy, I schooled him regularly when I first got him & he started to work very well in a outline he just needs to ridden into your hands with your legs but in a quiet way, although I gave up jumping years ago & would say am slightly nervous of it. I did jump Splodge which says something about how good he his, I took him to Downlands at one time & he jumped all their coloured fillers first time. I have never taken him XC or Hunting & would say he wouldn?t suit a home that wishes to do this as he is probably not brave enough. Recently he has really only been hacked by a 15yr girl who s happy to ride him out on his own in any weathers, so the schooling say of things would probably need starting again, so anyone coming to see him would have to understand that.

His left tendon has been damaged in the past but I have had no trouble with it in the last 4 years, I am just a bit sensible for example I wouldn?t canter him through mud etc.

He is a TB so needs to be well rugged in winter & feed well otherwise the weight just falls of him, he would suit anyone looking for a horse to love as well as ride, he will stand for hours being groomed & loving it, Whilst I was pregnant he was brilliant & if anything I would say he knew & was even more gentle, My daughter first sat on him at 6 mths but regularly patted him so you can imagine fingers in eyes etc & he just snuffled her & didn?t mind at all
